Gr 3 Assessments
There are three district-wide assessments required for all SD91 learners in Grade 3:
PM Benchmarks - Required in November
Grade 3 learners' literacy competencies such as reading comprehension, phonics and concepts about print continue to be assessed using the PM Benchmark Reading Assessment. Teachers and Principals can access the necessary documents and instructions for administering PM Benchmark testing here. New primary teachers, as well as anyone needing a refresher should have training to use this tool. Please contact Michelle Miller-Gauthier for training and more information about PM Benchmark Testing.

CCR - Required in May
The Cross-Curricular Reading Assessment (CCR) is administered to all grade 3 students at the end of the year. It is structured around non-fiction reading and comprehension. It has an oral reading conference as well as written answers. Students who have accommodations need to be provided with them for this assessment.
If a grade 3 learner is not yet receiving accommodations and is in the early stages of literacy development, consult with your Principal to determine if this assessment is appropriate.
Teachers and Principals can access the required materials and instructions to administer the CCR assessment here.
SNAP - Required for Beginning AND End of the Year
Gr 3 learners' number sense is assessed using the SNAP number sense assessment. Please access the SNAP template, rubrics and supporting documents here. |
Please use the secure staff apps portal to input your data for the PM, CCR and SNAP when assessments are complete.
